These are common situations that the modern motorist may have to contend with.
I can supply codes for most makes of car radio currently in the UK. Turnaround is usually within a day, but some models may take longer due to the work involved. In some cases the radio needs to be removed from the vehicle and taken/delivered to me in order to electronically read the code. However I can do many Ford, Philips, Philips/VDO Renault, Blaupunkt and Becker models by serial number (see below).
Alternatively, if you can unsolder ICs (or know someone who can) you could post me the EEPROM IC and save quite a few pounds in postage costs. Not all radios use an external EEPROM chip to store the code so if you are in any doubt, please ask me before removing anything!
Lastly, the code for a number of Ford, Blaupunkt , Philips and Becker/Mercedes radios can be supplied at a cost of £5 for Ford codes, the rest at £9 by simply emailing me the radio's model and serial number. See below for more details and models covered.
Dealer and main agent enquiries are welcome.

Blaupunkt radio codes from Serial Number - £9 |
I can now provide codes at a cost of ONLY £9 for certain Blaupunkt radios if given their serial number. Click on the button below to see if you can find your radio. Obtaining the code from the serial number saves you the inconvenience and cost of sending me those models provided the radio has not locked-up due to excessive code entry attempts or had its code changed in the past. If your radio has locked up, please do enquire - it may still accept another code entry attempt. Just e-mail

Philips radio codes from Serial Number - £9 |
I can provide codes at a cost of ONLY £9 for many Philips radios made up until the year 2000 (up to the year 2009 for many Renault units) if given their serial number. Obtaining the code from the serial number saves you the inconvenience and cost of sending me those models provided the radio has not locked-up due to excessive code entry attempts or had its code changed in the past. If your radio has locked up, please do enquire - it may still accept another code entry attempt. You can find the serial number engraved on the side
of the radio and may be something like Just e-mail me

FORD radio codes from Serial Number - £5 |
I can provide codes at a cost of ONLY £5 for most Ford radios if their serial number begins with a C, L,or M or the 7 digit type found on very old models. Obtaining the code from the serial number saves you the inconvenience and cost of sending me those models provided the radio has not locked-up due to excessive code entry attempts or had its code changed in the past. If your radio has locked up, please do enquire. Examples of serial numbers are: M123456 Just e-mail

Becker / Mercedes Benz radio codes from Serial Number - £9 |
I can provide codes at a cost of ONLY £9 for many Becker / Mercedes radios if given their serial number. Click on the button below to see if you can find your radio but please do email me if you can't find it listed. Obtaining the code from the serial number saves you the hassle and cost of sending me those models provided the radio has not locked-up due to excessive code entry attempts or had its code changed in the past. I can offer a same day decode service for the Ford Traffic 3000, 4000, 5000, 6000 and 7000 series radios. Even radios that have reached "LOCK 10" can be reactivated. Radios showing "LOCK 13" can be electronically reactivated if you send them to me at a cost of £23 in total (Carriage is by Royal Mail Special Delivery - UK delivery only, 2Kg max in weight)
Q |
Is there a master reset code to unlock my radio? |
A |
No - for security reasons there are no "master key" codes on
any UK models to the best of my knowledge. However, some models fitted
to USA market vehicles appear to have this facility. |
Q | The car dealer has given me a code and it doesn't work. What now? |
A |
It's possible the radio in the car is no longer the one originally fitted
by the manufacturer. Alternatively the code may have been changed during
a previous lost key code situation. The only option available now is to
have the radio decoded. |
Q | I know I have the correct code but the radio does not do anything when I try to enter it. |
A | It is likely someone has tried to enter a code or accidentally entered a number by pressing the radio preset station buttons. Most radios will enforce a delay between code entry attempts which increases (doubles in some cases) with every try. These radios need to be left switched-on, completely untouched, until they are ready to accept the correct code. Others give a maximum number of attempts - usually 10 to 13 tries after which the radio must be decoded. Blaupunkt radios will often enforce a delay of 1 hour between code entry
attempts during which time be careful not to press any keys or the 1
hour waiting period begins again. The display should change after the
hour, indicating it is ready to take the code. |
Q | How do I enter my radio code ? |
A | Have a look here for some commonly used code entry methods. |
Q | Can you decode my radio without having to send it to you ? |
A |
It all depends on the type of radio and your skills. Some Clarion models can be done by sending me a picture of an area on the circuit board containing the linkpads (this requires you to strip down the radio). Many other models require an IC to be removed and sent to me. For Blaupunkt radios listed here I can obtain the code from the serial number (Cost £9) Many Philips radios can be done by serial number, including Renault Philips/VDO units made up to 2009 (Cost £9) For Ford radios listed here I can obtain the code from the serial number. (Cost £5) Lastly some radios have to be sent simply because it's impractical to remove the IC that contains the code. If you are confident about stripping down the radio and/or removal of the EEPROM chip, please contact me and I will provide the necessary details. |
